Anxiety Counselling Vancouver

How can Anxiety Counselling Help?

You want to feel calm and in control, but anxiety keeps getting in the way.

Maybe your thoughts are racing, your body feels tense, and it’s hard to slow down or rest. You’ve tried to manage it on your own—but nothing seems to stick. You’re ready for lasting change.

That’s where I come in.

I believe my clients are the experts in their own lives. My role is to walk alongside you, helping you reconnect with the strength and resilience you already have.

Here’s how we’ll work together

We’ll create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can share what’s really going on. We’ll explore the root of your anxiety, work with the thoughts that keep you stuck, and build healthy coping tools. Along the way, we may use breathwork, body-based practices, and mindfulness to help you feel more grounded and present.

The outcome?
You’ll develop tools to manage anxiety, feel more at ease in your body, and move through life with greater confidence and clarity.

You don’t have to face anxiety alone. Let’s take the next step—together.

Let’s see if we’re a good fit. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation so you can ask questions, share what you’re looking for, and get a feel for how I work. No pressure—just a chance to connect and explore whether Fine Balance Counselling & Yoga Therapy is right for you.

Whether you’re a teen navigating high school, a parent trying to hold it all together, or someone living with anxiety or trauma, I’m here to help you find clarity, connection, and resilience.

    Teens and Adolescents

Growing up today comes with intense peer pressure, school stress, and overwhelming emotional ups and downs. I create a space where young people can talk openly, feel understood, and learn healthy ways to cope with change.

    Parents and Caregivers

Parenting can bring both joy and deep worry — especially when your child is struggling. I support parents through family challenges, emotional burnout, and the constant pressure to “get it right.”

    Adults

If you're dealing with anxiety, stress, or navigating major life transitions, therapy can help you feel more grounded, clear, and in control. You don’t have to manage everything on your own.

    Older Adults

Aging brings unique challenges — from health concerns and retirement transitions to grief, loss of independence, or social isolation. I offer compassionate support for older adults navigating these changes with dignity and care.

    People with Co-Occurring Disorders

Living with more than one challenge — like depression, substance use, or PTSD — can feel especially overwhelming. I use trauma-informed, integrative approaches that meet you where you are and support healing on every level.

    • People who actively have suicidal and homicidal intents and plans.

    • Clients in need of partial hospitalization or an intensive outpatient program.

  • I do not provide direct billing to extended health, insurance companies, etc. I will provide you with a receipt with my RCC registration number once you’ve paid for your session and you can submit that receipt to your provider for reimbursement.

  • I offer depth work which is most effective with regular sessions. Therefore, I require a commitment from clients to attend weekly or bi-weekly therapy.

After our first session, if it feels like a good fit, you will be able to go in and pre-book those sessions.

I ask clients to treat these times as a firm commitment to their mental health and avoid canceling or rescheduling whenever possible.

As a counsellor, my focus is on:

    • Making sure you feel seen, heard, and understood.

    • Creating a safe space where you can be your true self.

    • Offering non-judgmental support, no matter what you’re going through.

    • Centering your needs and your process, at your pace.

    • Building a strong therapeutic relationship—because research shows that when there's a good fit between therapist and client, real and lasting change is possible.

  • The first session is an opportunity to get to know one another. You’ll be able to share your story and experiences with me, as well as ask questions.

My role is to hold the space for you and really get an understanding of your thoughts, feelings and perspectives.

In this session, you can also get a feel for my therapy space and what therapy will be like. Together, we’ll decide if we would be a good fit to work together.

  • The amount of therapy sessions you may need will vary depending on your goals. Healing is often not a linear process. I believe that long-term sustainable change and transformation is a process that does not involve a ‘quick fix’.

Counselling is most effective when it is regular and consistent.

I offer deep, ongoing therapy, which works best when we meet regularly. Because of that, I ask for a commitment to weekly or bi-weekly sessions.

  • I provide in-person counselling at my private practice, located in Vancouver in the Strathcona area.

I also provide secure online counselling through Jane and Walk & Talk Therapy, which combines the benefits of counselling, nature, and movement.

I offer anxiety counselling, depression counselling, trauma counselling and more.

  • I’m not available outside of my regular hours, and Fine Balance Counselling & Yoga Therapy is not a crisis service.

  • I am a registered therapist with the Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP) and offer CVAP funded counselling.

This is a government-funded program that provides financial assistance to individuals seeking counselling following traumatic events. If you have been a victim, immediate family member, or witness of abuse or crime offences in British Columbia, you might be eligible to receive counselling support covered by this program. Check out VictimLink BC for more information.

Please note that I bill the government directly for our sessions and CVAP covers a portion of my fees ($135.00 per session). Clients pay the remainder of the standard session fee: $25 (60 min) & $75 (90 min).

  • I require that you keep a credit card on file for payment of sessions .

I have a 48-hour cancellation policy. I charge the full fee for a missed appointment, or for an appointment cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice.

I allow up to five cancellations per calendar year.

For late arrivals, sessions will end at the scheduled time, and the full fee will be charged.

  • Walk & Talk Therapy is outdoor counselling that includes gentle movement and time in nature as part of the healing process.

Walking can help reduce anxiety, depression, and stress, and support your ability to manage emotions and cope with change. It may also help quiet racing thoughts and ease feelings like irritation or frustration.

It’s a simple, grounding way to move forward—physically and emotionally.
