Counselling
FAQs

  • I specialize in supporting helping professionals—including first responders, healthcare providers, therapists, teachers, and social workers—who carry the weight of caring for others. I also work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions, offering a safe and compassionate space to process experiences and build resilience.

  • My counselling practice is a small, intentionally designed service that prioritizes personalized, high-quality care over high client volume.

I see a limited number of clients to maintain depth and presence in the work. This approach allows me to offer a more tailored, responsive experience in a warm, private setting—distinct from larger, more clinical environments.

I manage all aspects of the practice, from client care to admin and professional development, ensuring a consistent and thoughtful experience.

    • Crisis Response/24-Hour Services (If you need immediate mental health support, please contact the local distress line, available 24 hours, at 310-6789 (no area code).

    • People who actively have suicidal and homicidal intents and plans.

    • Clients in need of partial hospitalization or an intensive outpatient program.

  • I support healing through connection, care, and community.

I specialize in working with those who give a lot to others and are now ready to give something back to themselves.

My practice is rooted in the belief that we all need non-pathologizing, anti-oppressive spaces where we can just be: honest, vulnerable, human.

Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or just unsure of where to begin, this is a space where you don’t have to carry it alone.

Together, we’ll explore what’s working, what’s not, and what healing might look like for you.

  • The first session is an opportunity to get to know one another. You’ll be able to share your story and experiences with me, as well as ask questions. My role is to hold the space for you and really get an understanding of your thoughts, feelings and perspectives.

In this session, you can also get a feel for my therapy space and what therapy will be like. Together, we’ll decide if we would be a good fit to work together.

  • I provide in-person counselling at my private practice, located in Vancouver in the Strathcona area.

I also provide secure online counselling.

  • I offer depth work which is most effective with regular sessions. Therefore, I  ask for a commitment from clients to attend weekly (4 x month) or bi-weekly  (2 x month) therapy. I understand that our schedules change and sometimes consistency can be tricky,  but I ask that you attend regularly scheduled sessions whenever possible.

This rhythm supports the quality of the work we do by providing, effective, consistent progress in a container that has been developed to support trust and safety. It also helps me manage my caseload.

Brief therapy (6-12 sessions) focuses on immediate issues and practical solutions, whereas longer term therapy (12 or more sessions) address concerns in more depth and works with changing patterns of behaviour that have developed over a long period of time. It is up to each client’s discretion how long they wish to pursue therapy.

Every person’s circumstances are unique. If you have specific needs, financial concerns, or would like to talk through this I’m more than happy to have that conversation with you to see what we can arrange.

  • I am unavailable after my business hours. If you require immediate support, If you are in crisis/distress, please contact the mental health support line, available 24 hours a day, at 310-6789 (no area code) or call 911.
